Exercising At Home

We understand that being a carer means it is often hard to make a regular exercise class or get out of the house. There are lots of fun and varied workouts you can do at home to keep you active and feeling motivated.

Exercising Support Online

Carers UK has put together a great range of videos for you to access. There are short videos which you can do when your time is limited and longer videos when you have more time available.

The NHS has put together a whole page on exercise, with some great how to videos and progammes that you can also do yourself at home.

Can I exercise with the person I care for?

You may want to work out with the person you care for, if you search on online, there are many accessible videos and resources available that can be completed at home together, here are just a couple of examples:

Neuro Pilates with Jo Pritchard – YouTube
Royal Osteoporosis society: Exercise – YouTube
Improving the Lives of Individuals with Autism through Exercise – YouTube
Free live classes: Sports events | WheelPower
Resources:

Disabled sports activities – Kids’ activities – Healthier Families – NHS (www.nhs.uk)
Being active at home | Activity Alliance

Physical activity is good for your body and mind. Aim to be a little bit more active each day, the more you do the better you’ll feel.
