Carers In Bedfordshire
We're All About Carers
We are a registered charity that only do what makes life better for Carers – Carers are at the heart of our values.
As well as providing a wide range of services we help Carers have their say on caring matters in Bedfordshire, and beyond, working with the NHS, local councils, and influencing government, local and national.
We’re a Network Partner of Carers Trust, and also work closely with Carers UK, the UK’s two national carer charities.
We are regulated by the Charity Commission and comply with Company Law. We are a Network Partner of the Carers Trust and are registered with the Fundraising Regulator.

How We Make Decisions
As an incorporated charity our governing document is the Memorandum and Articles of Association, and we have a Board of Trustees who are our governing body. We are also a company limited by guarantee.
Our Board of Trustees is responsible for setting our overall direction and vision. The majority of our Trustees are Carers or former Carers. The Board’s decisions are informed by their first-hand experiences and an understanding of the challenges, that Carers face and the support they need.
The board meet a minimum of four times a year and draw upon the staff team, our Carers Panel and their own experience to make decisions which are always rooted in our history, vision and values;
Our Vision
Carers will feel recognised, respected and supported in their role.
Our Mission
To give Carers access to the support, information and skills that enhances their wellbeing and enables them to remain in a caring role for as long as they choose.

- We put Carers at the centre of every decision we make

- We are resilient.
How We Are Funded
Each year, Carers in Bedfordshire raises and spends over £1 million to help those who care for others.
65p of every £1 comes from the Local Authority and the National Health Service (NHS). This covers the core services that we offer including providing financial grants for Carers.
25p of every £1 comes from funders who believe in the value of what we do, such as Children in Need and local grant-giving organisations, and from the nominal charges that we make for some of our events and activities. While the final 10p of every £1 comes from our generous local community. This money allows us to do even more for Carers including responding to individual needs and finding new ways of providing support and advice.
